Addressing corruption to
prevent environmental
crime.

ENCORE is an EU-funded project focused on the corruption–pollution nexus and the ways bribery, undue influence and fraud can enable environmental crimes such as illicit trafficking in waste and f-gases.

By combining research, intelligence analysis and capacity-strengthening, ENCORE develops practical guidance, risk indicators and user-friendly tools to support competent authorities, customs, inspectorates, prosecutors and police in preventing, detecting and investigating these offences. It also aims to strengthen evidence-based policy responses to this threat across Europe.
